Eight Boys Hope Girls Hope World Wide Technology Scholars from affiliates in Arizona, Colorado, Detroit, and New York attended the annual Women of Color STEM Conference in Detroit from October 3-5th.

This event celebrated the significant contributions of women in STEM and offered networking opportunities, professional development sessions, and seminars on topics such as advancements in AI, mental health in the workplace, and empowering women leaders.

The expo provided valuable insights into the diverse roles within tech companies, including finance, marketing, and human resources. Thanks to numerous networking opportunities and Friday’s conversations, multiple collegians expressed interest in applying for World Wide Technology’s 2025 award-winning internship program.

The collegians gained valuable insights into the various roles within WWT, which helped them understand the many possible career paths available there. They received practical advice on preparing for careers after college, tips on resume building, networking, and using internships to gain relevant experience.

Throughout the weekend, the scholars shared meaningful conversations, built community and friendship, and enjoyed new experiences in Detroit. The weekend left them excited for the next opportunity to connect with industry leaders at the BEYA STEM Conference, scheduled for February 13-15, 2025, in Baltimore.
