The St. Francis Xavier Award recognizes a student who is a loyal companion to classmates and demonstrates a willingness to go out of the way for others without the thought of reward. The recipient of the St. Francis Xavier award is open to every member of the class and demonstrates a keen understanding of the role of faith. In a quiet and unassuming manner, this person witnesses to Gospel values by treating all with respect and dignity. Like St. Francis Xavier, the recipient shows zeal, courage, and charity in living a faith filled life. Congratulations April – BHGH is so proud of you!
BHGH Scholar wins prestigious SFX Award!
BHGH scholar April, an eighth grader at SFX, was honored with the St. Francis Xavier Award. The St. Francis Xavier award honors a student who exemplifies among peers the values reflected in the life of our patron saint.
St. Francis Xavier met St. Ignatius of Loyola while studying at the University of Paris, and became his loyal companion and friend. He joined with Ignatius and five others in dedicating their lives and will to the service of God and forming the Society of Jesus. St. Francis Xavier is known for his zeal, courage, and charity in spreading the Christian faith in India and Japan. Because of his preaching, many came to know Christ.
